Master of Business Administration (MBA) Program aims to prepare highly qualified entrepreneurial-managers, who will turn troubled companies around and solve problems for private and public sector.

Preconditions for the admission to the program:

Master program in Business Administration is developed for interested people, who already have higher education degree in any field, who are willing to expand their knowledge in the field of business administration. Accordingly, the essential preconditions for the admission to the Master Program is

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent degree in any field;
  • Participation in national master degree exams, successfully passing test B;
  • Successful completion of the internal university interview, which aims to examine applicants’ motivation and basic knowledge required for mastering the specialty;
  • Passing English test successfully, which examines the knowledge of English language (level - B2- intermediate), or presenting international certificate as a confirmation of having relevant knowledge; test sample
  • Filled GIPA application form
  • CV;
  • Cover letter;
  • Copy of the ID card;
  • Personal photo (3X4);

The maximum number of the students to be accepted is 30;

Advisory Board of the Direction of Business Administration

Business Administration Advisory Board is involved in development of business administration programs of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs.

The goal of the board is to support the high-quality education of business administration, at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. Business administration advisory board consists of national and international experts in the field of business administration, successful businessman and public figure;

The chairman of the board is Dr. Nikoloz Abuashvili.

Scholarships and Grants:

  • Medium and high-level managers - funding of 1000 GEL;
  • GIPA's successful graduates will receive individual fundings;
  • 500 GEL semester discount according to the academic achievement;
  • In the end of the program, the student with the highest level of academic performance will receive back 25% of the tuition fee - 3750 GEL.

Project for persons with social status

GIPA and the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia are launching a joint social project. The aim of the project is to increase access to education for people with different social status in order to encourage and support them professionally and promote their social integration.

Financing for this project will cover individuals who have passed the unified master's exams and meet one or more of the following social status criteria:

A) Socially vulnerable;

Socially vulnerable persons should submit a certificate issued by LEPL "Social Service Agency" under the state control of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia on registration of "Socially Unprotected Families Database", which should be issued no later than 2 months before university approval.

B) Representative of national minorities;

Representatives of national minorities should present the document confirming registration of the last 5 years in the compact settlement municipalities of national minorities in Georgia, together with a Georgian citizen's certificate.

C) Persons with disabilities;

Persons with disabilities should present the formula 50 / II (copy) of the Medical Social Examination Inspection Act;

D) Internally displaced persons;

Internally Displaced Persons must submit ID cards - IDPs;

E) Georgian nationals of foreign origin (Lazes, deported Meskhs, Fereydan Georgians and others) or foreign citizens who consider themselves Georgian by ethnic origin and have Georgian surname or Georgian linguistic identity;

Foreign citizens of Georgia who consider themselves Georgian by ethnic origin and have Georgian linguistic identity or Georgian linguistic identity should present a neutral identity document or a neutral travel document and resident abroad, foreign citizens, residents of foreign countries (Lazes, deported Meskhs, Fereydan Georgians and others) Document confirming the status of the compatriot;

F) Living in the occupied territories;

Persons residing in the occupied territories must present a certificate of Georgian citizenship, a neutral identity card or a neutral travel document;

G) Living in high mountainous regions;

Persons residing in high mountainous regions should submit a document confirming permanent residence in any high mountain settlement set by the Government of Georgia Decree N671 of December 30, 2015;

D) Members of large families;

Members of large families should submit a certificate or any kind of other documents which will prove the fact that there are five or more sisters, brothers or siblings.

E) Member of the family / family of the deceased for the protection of territorial integrity.

Total Credits of the Program:

120 (ECTS) credits (104 credits - compulsory subjects, while the remaining 16 credits - elective courses).

The content of the course involves the synthesis of classical theory and practice. It includes presentations and analytical works, as well as the introduction of the principles of teamwork through group projects. Learning process has interactive lecture/seminar format.

The learning process is built on the principle of modular training:

  • Module 1 - The Basic Essentials 
  • Module 2 - Corporate Finance
  • Module 3 - Technology and Operations Management 
  • Module 4 - Market Development
  • Module 5 - Entrepreneurial Manager

After the first four modules students will prepare a Master Final Project, which will allow them to use gained knowledge into practice, make appropriate findings and analysis of how the real business process operates.

The final projects of each module:

  • Module 1: Business overview and analysis
  • Module 2: Business valuation
  • Module 3: Business processes analysis and improvements
  • Module 4: Marketing plan for the company

After the fifth module, students will work on the Master Thesis/Final Project, which aims developing strategy and preparing business plan to turn around troubled company and increase its value.

Duration of the program: 

  • 2 years;
  • Evening classes;
  • Lectures 3/4 times a week (2/3 working days (3 hours) and Saturday (6 hours);

Language of instruction:

  • Georgian;
  • The basic learning materials in English;
  • Communication with guest professors in English;

University of Economics in Bratislava (Slovakia, Bratislava)

Cooperation with Bratislava university of Economics is being implemented under the Erasmus+ program and includes exchange of students, administrative and academic personnel. Memorandum of cooperation was signed in March 2017.

Maastricht School of Management (Netherlands, Maastricht)

Three weeks exchange program is being implemented within the cooperation of Maastricht School of management for students of Business Administration Master’s program.
