International Relations

The purpose of the Bachelor program in International Relations (IR) is to train students who will have a good knowledge of international relations and related fields, wide education, analytical and critical reasoning skills, ability to outline general models of main sub-fields learned through the process of the program. The international relations undergraduate program is considered to be popular and one of the fastest growing in the country. This outstanding result was driven by a balanced and interesting curriculum, as well as highly qualified professorship and friendly environment.

Students will be able to gain a unique knowledge about international relations, Which will give them not only a distinct advantage in this field, but also develop analytical skills in general. In addition to that, they will have a possibility to pass subjects that will work on the improvement of their education and erudition.

Graduates will have enough knowledge and qualification to work for the government in the direction of foreign and security policy. They will also have the possibility to be employed at International organizations and NGOs that work on security issues. Demonstration of examples of numerous graduates’ evidences that acquired knowledge and qualifications can very successfully be used in private sector too.

The Bachelor's Degree Program is intended for persons who have received full secondary education and successfully passed unified national exams.

In the unified national exams student must take following subjects:

  • Georgian language and literature
  • Any Foreign language
  • Math or History

*Voluntary: Any elective subject (Passing the 4th subject is not mandatory)

Freshmen Registration

Students should submit the following documents to register for the undergraduate program:

Students should submit the following documents to register for the undergraduate program:

  • A copy of the ID card
  • Certificate of secondary education (original, copy). If the certificate was not issued in Georgia, it must be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity
  • Photo (3x4)
  • A copy of the document confirming military registration (for men)
  • Receipt confirming the payment of 25% of the annual tuition fee. If the entrant has obtained a
    study grant, the amount of money to be paid by him before registration is a quarter of the
    difference between the fee and the grant provided for by the educational program

 2. Student Contract Signing Procedures: 

After the student has completed online registration, he/she must appear at the university  from September 16 to September 20, 11:00-17:00 (Tbilisi, Rustavi highway #22a).

Tuition Fee: 4,500 GEL

Payments can be made in four installments. After successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations.

In case of obtaining the state grant (100%, 70% and 50%), the student will receive a scholarship (1000GEL) from GIPA in the first academic year. Scholarship will be retained by the student on the basis of academic performance in the following years. Apart from the state grant, this program gives students a chance to receive GIPA’s co-financing (during the academic year).

Scholarship

The students with the highest GPA will be awarded scholarships each semester. The student with the greatest achievement in the International Relations Bachelor’s Program, 1st and 2nd place from top five, will be granted scholarship of 1000 GEL, three students who enter top five will be granted 700 GEL.

Each year, two students of the law program (one bachelor’s and one master’s degree candidate) are given the opportunity to study at Masaryk University for a semester, while two students from Masaryk University are sent to GIPA annually. Additionally, professors from GIPA’s law program regularly read lectures at Masaryk University.
