Visual Communication

   

In today's world, along with the diversity of media, effective visual communication is one of the most powerful and widespread forms. The mission of the Visual Communication Program is to give young people the best creative and practical knowledge for their personal development, intellectual, personal and professional success. The Georgian advertising/communication creative industry is young,  has been on the map of the world's creative industries for just 15  years. The great idea of the bachelor's program in visual communication (advertising and communication design) is focused on strengthening and developing this industry

The Bachelor of Visual Communication program is an updated modified version of the Bachelor of Media Arts program with 9 years of experience.

Since 2024, the Media Arts Department has become an independent program as  a 3-year bachelor's program  in visual communication (advertising and communication design), taking into account the world's latest educational trends and the requirements of Georgia's creative industry.

What will I learn? 

Visual art forms to express emotions: graphic and digital design, photography, typography, animation, video, illustration.

Technologies as implementation tools: Adobe, AR, VR, MR, 4D, AI

Strategies to deliver visual messages to target groups: branding, marketing, communication and digital advertising strategies, creative leadership.

The media as a means of spreading ideas is traditional and modern media channels.

Who will I become? 

 In 3 years you will be a creative leader (Art Direction) in leading positions of the advertising creative industry: Art Director, Graphic and/or Digital Designer, Visual Content Manufacturer: Photo, Video, Illustration, Animation. You will make creative and strategic decisions, work with Georgian and international brands, create a new visual culture.

Teaching Language / Language of Study: Georgian

Compulsory subjects to be admitted to the National Exams / Mandatory Subjects for National Exams 2024 Admission

  1. Georgian Language & Literature
  2. English language
  3. One of the following subjects: mathematics, fine and applied arts, literature or history.
  4. Elective subjects to be taken to the National Exams (  4th subject is not mandatory)

Program Admission Requirements will be allowed for the Bachelor's Program

  1. who has a certificate of secondary education-certificate;
  2. who successfully passed the Unified National Exams;
  3. who has successfully passed the creative competition

To register, the entrant must upload the following documents in accordance with the rules provided in the Creative Competition Manual:

Stage 1

  1. ID card or passport;
  1. Motivational video
  1. Motivational Essay
  1. Portfolio or creative project executed in accordance with a given brief

Stage 2

  1. გასაუბრება/ face to face portfolio review;
  1. In order to confirm the authenticity of the works, a workshop may be held on the site

After the student has completed online registration, he/she must appear at the university  on September 06,07,08, September 12, 11:00-17:00, at the School of Journalism (Tbilisi, Marie Brosse #2).

When signing the contract, the student must carry an ID card or passport with him.


*  A freshman who will not be an adult (18 years old) on the day of signing the contract must be accompanied by a parent, or a trustee who signs the contract (must provide a notarized documentation on the spot).

Tuition fees: 9500 GEL

Payment of tuition fees must be made on the account of the organization.

Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences

Darmstadt University of Applied Science, aka h_da, is a university of applied science located in Darmstadt, Germany. h_da is a member of the IT cluster Rhine-Main-Neckar, "Germany's Silicon Valley" and ATHENE, an IT member that is the largest security research institute in Europe.

The Memorandum of Understanding and the Student Exchange Agreement were signed in 2020. Based on the above agreement, a student exchange program was introduced between the two universities, within the framework of which it is possible to send 4-4 students annually to the partner university for a full semester of study.

Fontys University of Applied Sciences

Fontis University of Applied Science is one of the leading universities of applied science in the Netherlands, where more than 44,000 students study on several campuses south of the Netherlands. Fontys' three largest campuses are located in Eindhoven, Tilburg and Venlo.

The "Erasmus +" program is funded by the University with EU funding, under which students are fully funded by the costs associated with going through one semester, including travel, living and daily expenses.

Utrecht University of Applied Sciences

HU Utrecht's University of Applied Sciences provides teaching for students and professionals aged 17-67. It is considered one of the most powerful applied sciences universities in the Netherlands and is currently studied by about 35,000 students distributed at 22 locations in Utrecht en Amersfoort;

Hochschule Mainz – University of Applied Sciences

Mainz University of Applied Sciences is a university founded in 1971 in Mainz, Germany. Mainz's University of Applied Sciences consists of three faculties: the School of Technology, the School of Design and the School of Business. A common feature of all fields of study are the practical orientation of the university, short periods of study and internationally oriented courses.
