Management of Renewable Energies

According to the decision of the Vocational Educational Institutions Authorization Council, we were granted the right to implement innovative higher vocational education programs in "Energy Management" and "Management of Renewable Energies” adapted to the needs of the labor market.

The 2-year higher vocational program in management of renewable energies was developed with the financial support of the USAID Industry-led Skills Development Program, to develop and introduce such a vocational educational program that ensures the training of a competitive staff in the local and international markets.

What will I learn?

You will gain in-depth knowledge to competently plan, organize, and implement the activities of a renewable energy manager; understand and apply renewable energy legislation and regulations; assess the environmental impact of renewable energy; and plan, manage, and supervise the construction, installation, and operation of hydropower, wind power, solar power (PV), geothermal power, and biomass power projects.

Who will I be?

After completing your studies, you will be awarded the highest vocational qualification in the management of renewable energies. This qualification will enable you to be employed as a manager in private and public organizations involved in the renewable energy sector. Your potential roles could include overseeing activities related to the construction, installation, maintenance, operation, supervision, and servicing of renewable energy installations, devices, and systems.

You may also work in the installation and inspection of electrical and heating equipment and systems for both domestic and commercial buildings. Additionally, opportunities may arise in government agencies responsible for regulating and promoting the development of renewable energy systems, as well as in engineering and consulting companies that provide technical support and services for the use and development of renewable energy.

Moreover, your career could extend to research organizations and institutes focused on developing renewable energy and energy-efficient technologies. There are also opportunities in educational institutions, where you could contribute to the training and retraining of renewable energy specialists as a teacher, mentor, instructor, or technical expert.

Teaching language: Georgian

Admission prerequisite: complete secondary education and unified vocational testing.

Those wishing to enroll in the mentioned program should register for the unified vocational testing at the following email address: https://vet.emis.ge/#/registration 

At the time of registration, you should mark the Higher Vocational Program of Energy Management of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, and fill in the relevant fields.

After registration, you will receive a notification about the unified vocational testing (time, place, and other details related to testing).

Testing dates: October 5-6

The results of the unified vocational testing will be automatically sent to the university administration.

To enroll in the vocational program, you must submit the following documents to GIPA:

Copy of ID card

Certificate confirming complete general education (original/notarized copy)

Photo 3X4

Enrollment will be based on the results of the unified vocational test and the ranking. .

Studies will start on November 25, 2024.

Classes will be carried out every day, except weekends.

After successfully passing the unified vocational testing, you should submit the documents to the following address: Rustavi Highway #22a or send them electronically to the following address: drdve@gipa.ge 

The program is implemented with state co-financing (state voucher)

Individual student fee – 1,000.00 GEL (500 GEL per year).

A 10% discount applies to a vocational student who has the highest score/grade in the ranked list based on vocational (national) testing and qualified as one of the following social statuses:

  1. a) Socially vulnerable persons - they must submit a certificate issued by the State-controlled "Social Service Agency" of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection of Georgia regarding registration in the "Database of Socially Vulnerable Families", which must be issued no later than 2 months before the certificate is presented to the university.
  2. b) A person with disabilities - must present a copy of the act of medical social examination No. 50/II (copy)
  3. c) A person living in the occupied territories - must present a Georgian citizen's certificate, a neutral identity card or a neutral travel document
  4. d) Children/family members of persons who died for the protection of the territorial integrity of Georgia - must present a certificate issued by the State Service of Veterans' Affairs, which proves the family connection with the person who died for the protection of territorial integrity.
