The 2-year higher vocational program in Energy Management was developed with the financial support of the USAID Industry-led Skills Development Program, to develop and introduce such a vocational educational program that ensures the training of a competitive staff in the local and international markets.
What will I learn?
You will gain in-depth knowledge to competently describe and apply legislation and technical norms related to energy efficiency; analyze and evaluate the energy efficiency of engineering and technical support systems for industrial and household facilities; determine the energy efficiency of buildings; assess the possibilities and effectiveness of using alternative energy sources; provide energy consumer demand management; and analyze and evaluate the interests and needs of target groups.
Who will I be?
After completing your studies, you will be awarded the highest vocational qualification in Energy Management and will be qualified to work as a manager in international, central, or local administrative bodies and agencies responsible for the enforcement and monitoring of energy efficiency legislation. You may also find employment in energy production, transmission, and distribution companies, as well as in any type of energy-consuming industrial or household enterprises, regardless of affiliation. Additionally, you could work in design and construction organizations, as an independent auditor or inspector, or in research organizations and educational institutions focused on the development of energy-efficient technologies. You may also engage in the training and retraining of energy efficiency specialists as a mentor, instructor, or technical expert.

Admission prerequisite: complete secondary education and unified vocational testing.
The program is intended for those who have received a complete general education and will successfully pass the Unified National Examination of 2026.
Any individual registered for the Unified National Examination, including both applicants and those solely interested in vocational programs, will have the opportunity to study. Applicants can choose from academic programs as well as vocational educational programs. Conversely, individuals interested only in vocational programs will select the vocational program along with the necessary subject or subjects required for enrollment.
For enrollment, it is necessary to pass the subject specified for the relevant vocational qualification. To achieve this, the applicant must score above half of the minimum competency threshold set by the Unified National Examinations in at least one of the following subjects:
Specifically, if an applicant passes the mathematics section of the Unified National Examinations, they can choose any vocational educational program at GIPA for which the prerequisite for enrollment is the mathematics exam.
An applicant who is accepted under the aforementioned rule will have the opportunity to enroll in the programs without undergoing an additional selection process.

Individual student fee – 500 GEL per year.
10% discount applies to a vocational student who has the highest score/grade in the ranked list based on vocational (national) testing and qualified as one of the following social statuses:
a) Socially vulnerable persons - they must submit a certificate issued by the State-controlled "Social Service Agency" of the Ministry of Labor, Health and Social Protection of Georgia regarding registration in the "Database of Socially Vulnerable Families", which must be issued no later than 2 months before the certificate is presented to the university.
b) A person with disabilities - must present a copy of the act of medical social examination No. 50/II (copy)
c) A person living in the occupied territories - must present a Georgian citizen's certificate, a neutral identity card or a neutral travel document
d) Children/family members of persons who died for the protection of the territorial integrity of Georgia - must present a certificate issued by the State Service of Veterans' Affairs, which proves the family connection with the person who died for the protection of territorial integrity.
