Medea Akhalkaci

Board Member

Medea has extensive professional experience in public communications, strategic management, international relations and higher education. Her career combines leadership roles in public institutions, international organisations and academia.

A significant milestone in her professional career is associated with the Administration of the President of Georgia, where she served as the Press Secretary and Communications Advisor to the President of Georgia from 2004 to 2005. During this period, she was actively involved in high-level public relations, institutional relations and public engagement initiatives.

Between 2007 and 2009, worked with UNDP and UNESCO in Georgia and Central America as a Public Affairs Manager, focusing on international communications and organisational development.

From 2014 to 2016, she served as Dean of GIPA's School of Governance and a lecturer in the field of Public Diplomacy.

Ms. Akhalkatsi has substantial expertise in public administration, strategic communications, international cooperation and higher education. Her professional experience bridges the public, international and academic sectors.

She has been a Member of the Board of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) since 2020.
