A brief description of the experience

Mr. Nikoloz Bakradze is an International Exchange Coordinator at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA). He is involved in coordination and administration of all the procedures related to the international cooperation of the University. His responsibilities include informing the academic community about the possibilities of participation in mobility programmes, expansion of the international cooperation by signing of bilateral agreements and inter-institutional Erasmus+ agreements.

Prior to joining GIPA, in 2005-2016, Mr. Bakradze worked in the Office of International Relations of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation (main research funding agency in Georgia operating under the Ministry of Education and Science). His main activities encompassed preparation of international projects; participation in negotiations with international partner organizations, consultation of Georgian R&D organizations and individual researchers. Mr. Bakradze has taken part in diverse international projects as an expert.

Since 2005 Mr. Bakradze has acted as the contact person of various programmes and joint calls implemented jointly with foreign partner organizations, such as “International Association for Cooperation with Scientists from the former Soviet Union” (INTAS), International Science and Technology Center (ISTC), NATO Programme “Science for Peace and Security” (SPS), Italian National Research Council (CNR), French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), US Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF Global), etc. in 2005-2010, Mr. Bakradze served as a representative of Georgia in the “Working Group on Cooperation in Science and Technology of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation” (BSEC) and “EU-Eastern Partnership Panel on Research and Innovation” (2013-2016);
