General Management

The General Management program is designed for individuals with any education, seeking for development of managerial and strategic visioning skills, effectively participate in management of state, international, non-governmental and business institutions. The aim of the program is to familiarize the students with management as an independent discipline. Listeners will receive the knowledge that is crucial for the formation and management of successful organizations.

Training course is designed and presented by the key lecturers, practitioners and professional consultants, based on modern methods of education and recognized teaching programs.

Duration of the course: 4 months. Lectures are held three times a week, on weekdays from 19:00 to 22:00 and on weekends from 10:00 to 17:00.

Teaching language: Georgian, the reading materials are mainly in English

Certificate:

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded with the General Management Certificate.

Certificates are graded and vary according to the participant’s achievements.

Prerequisites for receiving the certificate include: Receiving a minimum, positive grade in each module; Preparation and presentation of the final, individual project

Giorgi Turkia - Full professor in the field of economics. He has 20 years of lecturing experience in business management. He is an expert in business planning and management and provides consultations to government, private and international organizations. He is the initiator of several projects and a specialist of the National Examination Center group. Also, the author of four textbooks in the business direction, including the co-author of the books "Basics of Business" and "Business".

Aleksi Chikovani - Founder  of the strategic branding agency "LIVE", brand consultant. He is a Master of Business Administration from Lancaster University School of Business in Corporate Strategy and Brand Management. 15+ years of experience working in the field of branding, marketing and sales.

Nikoloz Abuashvili Professor of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) School of Management, Doctor of Economics. Has 20+ years of experience in solving business problems and working in private and public organizations. Since 1995, he has been conducting professional trainings and is engaged in academic activities. He gave lectures to students of Free University, Caucasus University, Georgia Technical University and University of Tennessee. He is a founding partner of the company "Business Infrastructure Solutions". His competence is increasing the value of businesses, their health and development, marketing planning and implementation, information technology, project management and personnel development.

Levan Kokaia - Master of Law and Public Administration.   He has  7  years of experience working in the public and private sectors and  5+ years of work in the academic field. He is the author of  25 published scientific and analytical publications, regarding the legal analysis of oil and gas cross-border transportation project contracts, financial markets, legal regulation of capital markets and investment funds, corporate management, as well as investment, International private and antitrust law.

Anano Gorgodze - An experienced academic board member with a history of working in education management. Her experience includes non-governmental organizations, as well as the private and public sectors. Her expertise covers performance and quality assessment strategies, education policy and management, leadership and public speaking. She has obtained MPA degree at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs; the second master's degree she helds in Education policy from King’s College of London. She is currently engaged in PhD program and her research comprises the relationship between education and the labor market.

Dali Tsatava -  20 years of experience in pedagogical and didactic approaches, learning and learning process management and project management. Collaborated with international institutions  GTZ, TACIS, GI, DAAD. Taught at ESM, Iv.Javakhishli State University International School of Tourism, Free and Agrarian Universities.  Successfully implemented projects: "Learning Learning as a Key Competency" together with German colleagues, "Georgian Culinary Academy" together with their Austrian colleagues at the Agrarian University, "History of Food Culture Development" at TSU International School of Tourism. She is the author of the textbook "Learning Techniques and Strategies".  She is a consultant at Business Infrastructure Solutions. Her competence is self-management,  stress management, learning to learn, maintaining the right ratio of learning,  nutrition and relaxation.

Ekaterine Lomidze - Currently, Eka Lomidze is the human resources manager of the hotels -"Radisson Blu Iveria" and "Radisson Collection, Tsinandali Estates". She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychotherapy from Campbell University (USA). Since 1997 she has experience working as a human resources manager. She was the Head of the Human Resources Management Service at MagtiCom and Tegeta Motors LLC.  She is a master trainer at Radisson Hotel Group. From 2013 to present, she conducts trainings at Radisson Academy. 

Paata Papava - is a Professional Development and Instruction specialist with 20 years of experience in training, curriculum design, and educational leadership. He holds the degree from the Tbilisi State University (Georgia), faculty of Philosophy and Sociology. He works as an associate professor at Caucasus University, Department of Education. Mr. Papava provided training and consultancy services to educational projects and institutions in Georgia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Tanzania, Oman, etc. He delivered BA, MA, and Doctoral courses in different subject areas, such as effective instruction, critical thinking, and educational psychology.

Since 1999 he coordinated teacher professional development and school improvement initiatives both locally and internationally. From 2011 to 2018 he was the Reading Improvement Director of the USAID/Georgia Primary Education Project and is now the Literacy Lead of the USAID Basic Education Project. Since 2016, Mr. Papava developed and delivered Training of Trainers modules for
Intellectual Property (IP) Academies in Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Ukraine, organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and local IP offices. He coordinated development of primary school lesson plans on IP topics, supplemental readers and school newspaper articles on copyright and trademarks. Since April 2020 he is the Education Expert of the Creativity and Intellectual Property in Georgian Schools /EUGIPP project. Twice he served as a speaker and tutor of IP4Youth&Teachers seminars/courses. Mr. Papava coordinated development of the Training and Accreditation standards and procedures at the National Teacher Professional Development Center (TPDC). He co-authored ICT guidelines and conducted teacher training on using the internet in education. He also served as an expert and trainer of the Project for the Induction of Newly Qualified Teachers. He is the author/co-author of teacher manuals and journal articles, as well as the editor of the educational journals and newspapers. 

Since 2017, Mr. Papava has been a managing partner of “Teamboat”, a company of trainers and team builders helping organizations in practicing collaborative and creative problem-solving approaches.

Program cost: 2200 GEL

Payment schedule: payment is made in 2 installments

I instalment - 1200 GEL (made at the beginning of the program)

II instalment - 1000 GEL (made during the first week of second month of study).

The program includes individual discounts:

  • Graduates of GIPA - 10%
  • Family members studying on the same program at the same time - 10%

 Corporate Discount:

 In case if organization covers the personnel development costs, special discounts vary: 

  • two or three employees – 10%
  • four employees – 15%
  • five or more employees – 20%

*One person is eligible to receive one type of discount per program.
