Operations Management and Logistics

The innovative Operations Management Program at GIPA is designed for operations and logistics managers, as well as business analysts from large and medium-sized organizations.

During the program, the participants get aware about the role of operations management in the context of a company’s strategic development to address the tactical challenges. They will acquire knowledge and skills related to the management of operations, assets, inventory, supply chains, quality, and risks, using ERP and other informational technologies.

The program includes a practical mini-project and a final summary project aimed at improving an organization’s operations.

Upon completion of the project, participants will be able to analyze, plan, improve, and oversee business operations, connect them to financial and managerial accounting tasks, as well as, use organizational resources efficiently and effectively to achieve improved business outcomes.

Duration of the course: 4 months. Lectures are held three times a week, on weekdays from 19:00 to 22:00 and on weekends from 10:00 to 17:00.

Teaching language: Georgian, the reading materials are mainly in English

Certificate:

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded with the Operations Management Certificate.

Certificates are graded and vary according to the participant’s achievements.

Prerequisites for receiving the certificate include: Receiving a minimum, positive grade in each module; Preparation and presentation of the final, individual project

    Nikoloz Abuashvili - Professor of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) School of Management, Doctor of Economics. Has 20+ years of experience in solving business problems and working in private and public organizations. Since 1995, he has been conducting professional trainings and is engaged in academic activities. He gave lectures to students of Free University, Caucasus University, Georgia Technical University and University of Tennessee. He is a founding partner of the company "Business Infrastructure Solutions". His competence is increasing the value of businesses, their health and development, marketing planning and implementation, information technology, project management and personnel development.

    Lika Gvilava Master of Business Administration with extensive experience working as an operations manager in both local and international companies. Currently, Lika is the head of operations (COO) at Flat Rock Technology. Her competencies are not limited to operations management, strategic thinking, organizational leadership and operational efficiency.

    Nino Chubinidze - +18 years of experience working in product development and operations management in banking, healthcare and financial services. Master of Business Administration from Free university. Currently, Nino is head of operations (COO) at TBC Pay. Skilled in product development, operation management, banking and team leadership.

    Giorgi Turkia - Full professor in the field of economics. He has 20 years of lecturing experience in business management. He is an expert in business planning and management and provides consultations to government, private and international organizations. He is the initiator of several projects and a specialist of the National Examination Center group. Also, the author of four textbooks in the business direction, including the co-author of the books "Basics of Business" and "Business".

    Julieta Gagloshvili – Doctor of Engineering in Informatics. She is the head of the Educational-Scientific Laboratory in Computer Science at the Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences of Tbilisi State University, specializing in Information Technology. She is the co-author of numerous publications and a participant in scientific conferences. With years of experience working on and implementing IT projects, she has contributed significantly to the field of information technology.

    Program cost: 2500 GEL

    Payment schedule: payment is made in 2 installments

    I instalment - 1800 GEL (made at the beginning of the program)

    II instalment - 700 GEL (made during the first week of second month of study)

    The program includes individual discounts:

    • Graduates of GIPA - 10%
    • Family members studying on the same program at the same time - 10% 

    Corporate Discount:

    In case of organization covering the personnel development costs, special discounts vary: 

    • two or three employees – 10%
    • four employees – 15%
    • five or more employees – 20%

    *One person is eligible to receive one type of discount per program.
