Psychology of Management

The aim of the program is to provide psychological training for participants, increase their professional competence, acquire effective communication skills, acquire decision-making and strategic planning skills, clarify the physiological and psychological mechanisms of stress and management, study organizational stress management techniques, etc.

The course is designed for:

  • For top managers and also for middle and first-line managers  
  • For those interested in psychology of Management

Content:

Organizational Communication Psychology:

  • Basics of communication; Development of competencies; Case discussion, practical exercises.
  • Verbal and non-verbal communication; perception of yourself and those around you;   Effective listening, adequate feedback; Theory of mutual influence, communicative skills necessary for conflict resolution;
  • Group communication; Stages of group work; Solving problems in the group; Distribution of roles in the group.

Psychology of Management:

  • Different management and leadership models;
  • Effective management skills; leadership skills; Skills necessary for working with a team;
  • teaching recommended forms of influencing group behavior;
  • Ability to conduct group work and make joint decisions;
  • Ability to motivate and target staff; Ability to manage time.

Organizational behavior:

  • The nature of motivation,  the difference between motivation and stimulation. content and procedural theories of motivation and their application at the level of individuals and teams;
  • the essence and classification of stimulation; the main forms of stimulation;
  • the essence of personality, basic theories of personality behavior, fundamental personal values and their impact on the workflow;
  • the nature of organizational change (purpose, structure, technology and objectives);
  • Time management.

Psychological counseling for managers:

  • Individual psycho-consultation for managers;
  • Scheme of action for the psychological study of personality for managers;
  • Preparing a feedback report for managers;
  • Looking for reasons for causing organizational problems;
  • Internal and external counseling.

Psychology of Stress:

  • The essence of the conflict. Types of functional and dysfunctional conflict. Types of conflict. Causes of conflict, escalation and de-escalation of the conflict. Effective and ineffective conflict resolution;
  • The essence of stress. Physiological and psychological mechanisms of stress. Classification of causes of stress (stressors);
  • Perception of life situations and their changes. stress model, creating barriers. A model of positive stress. owning oneself;
  • Strategies for overcoming stress - protection mechanisms. introspection;
  • Organizational stress, causes, and coping programs.

 

Duration of study: 2 months, three or four times a week, in the evenings from 19:00 to 22:00.

Course Capacity: 63 Hours

Teaching Language: English

After completing the study, participants will be awarded a certificate of Psychology of Management.

Prerequisite for obtaining a certificate:  at the end of the course you must pass the final exam.

 

Khatuna (Lia) Sanikidze - social psychologist by degree, doctoral student in social sciences. Social - Psychological Skills Training and Development Trainer, Facilitator. She holds a diploma from the Faculty of Philosophy-Psychologyof Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University; Diploma from the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University (USA, Virginia).  Lecturer at the Business Faculty of Free and Agrarian Universities of Tbilisi. Senior trainer of the Training Center of TBC Human Capital Development Department. Member of the Board of Managing Board of the Georgian Association of Mediators, Mediator of the Tbilisi City Court. Expert of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.  Founder and CEO of  the non-governmental organization "Women for Tomorrow". Founder of Step Forward LLC. Has  32 years of training practice, many years of cooperation with various state, non-governmental and international organizations. She has participated in many international projects, professional conferences, seminars and trainings.

Mariam Davitashvili - psychologist. Since 2018  – Invited Lecturer at the Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), lecture courses - Violence and Communication Psychology. Graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, later Ilia State University. Since 2013 she has been a member of the ESTSS - European Society for Traumatic Stress Studies Society. She is a psychologist, project manager and trainer of the Psychosocial Services Center of the Resource Officer Service of the LEPL educational institution, as well as was the acting head of the same center. She is a  psychologist, organizer and trainer  of the Ars Vivendi Center for Research and Development of a Healthy Future for Children and Youth. She is a certified trainer in different fields and leads trainings in various organizations. Has participated in a number of international professional conferences, seminars and trainings.

Elizaveta Sologhashvili - Psychologist, Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the University of Georgia in the field of social and organizational psychology. Experience - from 1996 to 2010 Human Resources Manager in various companies: "Cartu Bank"; "Bank of Georgia"; "Silkroad Bank";  Elitepro, LLC. 2010-2012  – Consultant of theconsulting company IMG (Integrated Management Group);  Human Resources Management Consultant at theconstruction company "Alion 99".

Trainer experience since 2001: development of managerial skills; Human resource management; Modern standards of service; Strategic and operational planning; Time management; Development of communicative skills; Leadership; Career development.

Tinatin Pantsulaia -  Doctor of Psychology.Since 2013, the Invited Lecturer at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs has studied a lecture course - Psychological Counseling at GEO.D. of the Academy of Sciences Uznadze Institute of Psychology. In 2018 she became an accredited psychotherapist at the European Gestalt Association of Therapists (EAGT).  Is a Professor at Andrew the First-Called Georgian University, author and head  of the master's program "Psychodiagnostics and Counseling". Invited lecturer  at Caucasus University  (CU); She is the author of up to 20 scientific works. Leads   Psychological Counseling Diagnostic Center "Idilia".Has  21 years of practice of psychocounseling. She is the founder of the Association of Psychologists and Psychotherapists and has participated in a number of international professional conferences, seminars and trainings.

Program cost: 900 GEL

Payment schedule

Payment is made in 2 installments:

 I instalment - 600 GEL (made after 1 week of study) 

II instalment - 300 GEL (made in second month of study)

 The program includes individual discounts:

  • Graduates of GIPA - 10%
  • Family members studying on the same program at the same time - 10%

Corporate Discount:

In case of organization covering the personnel development costs, special discounts vary: 

  • two or three employees – 10%
  • four employees – 15%
  • five or more employees – 20%

*One person is eligible to receive one kind of discount per program.
