University of León

The University of León (ULE) is a public university in León, Spain, with a second campus in Ponferrada. Officially established in 1979, its origins date back to 1843, making it an institution with a long academic tradition and a strong reputation in higher education.

ULE offers a wide range of academic programs, including 39 bachelor's degrees, numerous master's programs, and 17 doctoral programs across disciplines such as veterinary medicine, engineering, sciences, education, law, business, humanities, and health sciences. The university is particularly renowned for its Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and its commitment to research and innovation.

With a strong focus on internationalization, ULE has developed partnerships with leading institutions worldwide, including the University of Washington and Xiangtan University, and is a member of the European University Alliance EURECA-PRO. Modern facilities, including advanced research centers and the Caléndula supercomputer, support both academic and scientific excellence.

From 2024–2027, cooperation between GIPA and the University of León is implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme (International Credit Mobility), including the exchange of students and administrative/academic staff.
