Course Title:

SPSS & AI - Data Analysis

1. Course Objective

This intensive course aims to teach participants data analysis using SPSS, incorporating both traditional methods and modern AI-driven techniques. Throughout the course, participants will gain proficiency in data management, analysis, and visualization, enabling them to optimize statistical computations by reducing time and effort.

2. Target Audience

- Students, researchers, and professionals engaged in quantitative research and data analysis.

3. Course Goals

- Understanding the SPSS interface and core functionalities

- Applying descriptive statistics for data analysis

- Using inferential statistics for hypothesis testing

- Integrating AI tools for automated syntax generation and rapid analysis

- Conducting independent data analysis through practical assignments

- Visualizing and reporting results according to APA-7 standards

4. Learning Outcomes

- Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

- Create, clean, and manage databases using SPSS

- Apply descriptive and inferential statistical methods accurately

- Test hypotheses based on research data

- Automate SPSS syntax and utilize AI tools effectively

- Present statistical findings according to APA-7 standards

Introduction to Data Analysis & SPSS Interface

Fundamental principles of quantitative research, data types, questionnaire formats, transferring data from Google Forms to SPSS, creating variables (Labels, Values), entering data, defining variable types (Measure, Type)

Variable Manipulation

Automatic recoding and transformation of variables (Automatic recode, recode into same/different variables), calculating total scale scores (Compute)

Descriptive Statistics

Frequency distributions, measures of central tendency and variability (Mean, Median, Mode, SD), data visualization (Graphs), selecting cases (Select Cases), splitting datasets (Split File)

Data Cleaning & Normality Testing

Data cleaning, identifying outliers, normality tests (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Shapiro-Wilk)

Instrument Reliability & Factor Analysis

Cronbach’s Alpha, internal consistency, factor analysis (PCA, EFA)

Data Correlations & Relationships

Correlation analysis (Pearson, Spearman), simple and multiple linear regression

6. Teaching Methodology

- Each session includes:

- Traditional statistical analysis using SPSS

- Automated SPSS syntax generation

- Utilization of AI tools (e.g., OpenAI) for data processing

- Independent practical assignments

7. Course Duration & Workload

- Intensive short-term course: 1 month (12 sessions)

- Total workload: 36 hours

- Lecture schedule: Three times per week, 19:00–22:00

- Georgian / English

9. Certification Requirements

To receive a certificate, participants must:

- Conduct a full-scale data analysis on real-world data

- Prepare a research report

- Deliver a presentation following APA-7 standards

Discount System

 The program includes individual discounts:

  • Graduates of GIPA - 10%
  • Family members studying on the same program at the same time - 10%

 Corporate Discount:

 In case if organization covers the personnel development costs, special discounts vary: 

  • two or three employees – 10%
  • four employees – 15%
  • five or more employees – 20%

*One person is eligible to receive one type of discount per program.

  • Motivation
  • Communication skills
  • Working experience (preferable)
  • Knowledge of B2 level English (preferable)
