Hochschule Hannover – University of Applied Sciences and Arts

The Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HsH) is a public university of applied sciences in Hannover. Established in 1971 through the merger of several institutions, it is the city’s second-largest university, serving around 10,000 students across four campuses.

HsH offers practice-oriented education and research through five faculties: Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Bioprocess Engineering, Media, Information and Design, Business and Computer Science, and Diaconal Studies, Health and Social Work. The university is known for its strong connections with industry, providing students with valuable practical experience through internships, projects, and collaborations with companies in Lower Saxony.

A distinctive feature of HsH is its commitment to being an “open university,” offering flexible access to higher education for professionally qualified individuals and supporting diverse student pathways. A Memorandum of Cooperation and a Student Exchange Agreement were signed in June 2025. Based on this agreement, a student exchange program was established between the two universities, allowing up to four students from each institution annually to study for one full semester at the partner university.
