Karlstad University

Founded in 1967 and granted full university status in 1999, Karlstad University is a public university located in Karlstad, Sweden. The university is organized into two main faculties: the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health, Science and Technology. Academic disciplines include business, law, economics, communication, engineering, computer science, environmental sciences, nursing, psychology, education, and music.

A key strength of Karlstad University is its internationally recognized research. The CTF Service Research Center is one of the world’s leading centers for research on service management and value creation. The university is also home to Karlstad Business School, known for its unique service-oriented approach to business and economics education.

Guided by its motto, “Sapere Aude” (Dare to Know), Karlstad University combines high-quality education, innovative research, and environmental responsibility to prepare students for successful careers and active contributions to society.

From 2023–2026, cooperation between GIPA and Karlstad University is implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme (International Credit Mobility), including the exchange of students and administrative/academic staff.
