GIPA continues to host the Presidential Candidates of Georgia, regarding the upcoming elections. On October 22nd, Davit Bakradze, Presidential candidate of “European Georgia-Movement for Liberty” held the meeting with students.
Davit Bakradze overviewed the ongoing political processes in Georgia and underlined the importance of the upcoming Presidential elections in the country. He talked about his main election promises – supporting youth education and possible pension increase.
The Presidential candidate of “European Georgia” plans to strengthen assistance of youth education by financial aid, under the frames of the Reserve Fund of the President of Georgia and claims that the educational direction will be the major filed of concentration for the fund. As for the pension increase – this right (according to the constitution) is entitled to the Government and not the President, Davit Bakradze says that his duty is to address all the members of society and as the President, he will have the most powerful political legitimacy and thus by mobilizing public opinion, he will be able to force the government to act accordingly.
The Meeting ended in a question-answer regime and the students had the opportunity to get the answers about the matters they were referring to. The meeting cycle with the representatives of the Presidential Elections of Georgia continues till 23rd of October.
