The project “Students’ Congress” aims at increasing youth engagement in political and public processes, through improving communication between the members of the parliament and students and raising awareness about parliament activities.
The first “Students’ Congress” was held in Kvareli Justice Learning Centre, on June 16-17.
Within the frameworks of the project was developed open platform, where young people, together with members of 9th term of the parliament of Georgia are able to discuss important ongoing issues in the country. Participants worked in the committee format, members were students as well as active parliamentarians, such as:
Mamuka Mdinaradze, chairman of election block, Georgian Dream_Democratic Georgia.
Kakha Kutchava, chairman of Environment Protection and Natural Resources Committee.
Irakli Sesiashvili, chairman of Defense and Security Committee.
Beka Odisharia, deputy chair of block Georgian Dream_Democratic Georgia.
Dimitri Tskitishvili, deputy chair of Foreign Affairs Committee.
Each committee worked through legislative initiatives that will be presented on imitated process in the parliament on the 23rd of June.
