A study by GIPA-affiliated lecturers Nino Abzianidze, Nino Makhviladze, and Tiko Tsomaia, titled Political Parallelism and the Geopoliticisation of Migration in the Georgian Media: Analyzing Migration Framing after Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine,” has been published in the international peer-reviewed journal Eurasian Geography and Economics.

The study examines the coverage of migration in the Georgian media and its geopoliticisation following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The article focuses on how the political context and the relationship between the media and politics influence the coverage of migration.

GIPA Journalism Master’s Program students Salome Javakhishvili, Nino Apaqidze, and Nino Agladze made a significant contribution to the research.
