On May 28–29, second-year students from Renewable Energy Management Program, one of the vocational programs at GIPA, visited the Shuakhevi Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) Cascade as part of a study tour.
The visit was organized under the memorandum of cooperation signed between GIPA and the energy company Adjaristsqali Georgia, which aims to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical experience for students. Based on this partnership, students of the program will have the annual opportunity to undergo practical training at one of the most critical energy facilities for Georgia's energy security.
During the study visit, students met with the company's CEO, as well as the heads of operations, electrical, civil engineering, and control systems departments. They received comprehensive information regarding the design, construction, and operation phases of hydroelectric facilities, and were introduced to modern technologies and engineering practices.
The participants toured the Shuakhevi Hydroelectric Power Plant, the Skhalta HPP, and the Didachara Dam, observing the full operational cycle of hydro-energy facilities on-site.
"GIPAis one of the leading universities in Georgia, and cooperating with this successful educational institution is particularly important to us. We believe that the sustainable development of the energy sector is impossible without skilled professionals. That is why we are creating opportunities for students to directly explore modern energy infrastructure, meet industry experts, and gain practical knowledge in a real work environment. Such initiatives play a vital role in shaping professionals and strengthening Georgia's energy sector," stated Satish Bhat, CEO of Adjaristskali Georgia.
