The Research Ethics Committee of N(N)LE GIPA – Georgian Institute of Public Affairs has been officially established with the following composition:
- Nana Macharashvili – Professor, Head of the Research Department, Chair of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the School of Governance;
- Ana Keshelashvili – Professor, Member of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the Caucasus School of Journalism and Media Management;
- Manana Gabashvili – Professor, Member of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the School of Social Sciences;
- Tinatin Chkheidze – Professor, Member of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the School of Social Sciences;
- Rati Shubladze – Professor, Member of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the School of Social Sciences;
- Nino Abzianidze – Associate Professor, Member of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the School of Law and Politics;
- Natia Iakobidze – Associate Professor, Member of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the School of Governance;
- Tamari Zurabishvili – Associate Professor, Member of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the School of Governance;
- Otar Machaidze – Associate Professor, Member of the Research Ethics Committee, representing the School of Law and Politics.
Since 2018, GIPA has utilized non-permanent, ad-hoc research committees that were established strictly on demand for research teams requiring ethical approval. Unlike these previous iterations, the new Research Ethics Committee is a permanent, university-wide body. It is a multidisciplinary unit comprising representatives from various schools and integrating highly qualified academic personnel. The university's Research Department will provide full administrative support to the committee.
