From December 20 to 22, GIPA is hosting a Model European Parliament. Over the course of three days, 150 young participants will become familiar with the principles, culture, and challenges of the European Parliament’s work and, during the final session, will present concluding draft legislative proposals.
At the opening session of the event, the participants were addressed by GIPA Rector Mrs. Maka Ioseliani; the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to Georgia, H.E. Mrs. Edite Medne; the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Georgia, Mrs. Meline Arakelian; and Mr. Filip Stakowski, Counsellor and Head of the Economic Affairs Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland.
At the conclusion of the session, the diplomats met with GIPA Rector Maka Ioseliani. During the meeting, the Rector spoke about the university’s mission, its contribution to the implementation of democratic reforms in Georgia, and existing challenges. In turn, the diplomats focused on future cooperation and partnership opportunities.
The Model European Parliament event is organized by the European Academic Center with the support of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA).
