Today, at the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Zurab Zhvania’s birthday was commemorated and the European Hall named in his honor was officially opened.
Zurab Zhvania made an enormous contribution to the establishment and development of the university. In 2002–2003, he delivered a course of lectures at GIPA, which later became the basis for the book “The Privilege of Our Generation.”
The event was opened by GIPA Rector Maka Ioseliani. Lana Ghoghoberidze and Giorgi Margvelashvili addressed the audience, speaking about Zurab Zhvania’s work and legacy.
The event was attended by members of Zurab Zhvania’s family, individuals involved in the creation of the book, as well as GIPA alumni who had been direct participants in his lectures.
With the opening of the GIPA European Hall, the university offers the public a new space for discussions on the country’s development priorities, challenges, and issues, a place where young people can speak openly and confidently about topics that matter to them.
