Doctor of Law, Associate Professor at GIPA School of Law and Politics since 2020, Otar has been engaged in teaching since 2016. From 2016 to 2019, he was an Invited Lecturer at Tbilisi State University, and since 2019, he has held the position of Invited Lecturer at the Faculty of Law and Politics of the Institute of Public Affairs of Georgia. Since September 2020, he has been elected an Associate Professor of the same faculty and delivers lectures in the field of private law. He consistently conducts academic research in private law, including stints in 2018 and 2024 at the Max-Planck "Institute of Comparative and International Private Law (Hamburg)" and in 2022 at the UNIDROIT Institute of Law. Furthermore, he has published numerous scientific publications in this area.
Additionally, Otar is a member of the Georgian Bar Association. Otar has been actively practicing law since 2013. He is a partner at the law firm "J&T Consulting" LLC, where he represents clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings both in Georgia and abroad. Since 2020, Otar has been an accredited member of the Georgian Association of Arbitrators, and since 2023, he has served as a board member and trainer for the same association. Additionally, he is a certified mediator and accredited trainer of the Mediators Association of Georgia. He is a practicing arbitraitor and mediator. In recent years, he has consistently earned recognition as a next-generation partner and successful lawyer by Legal 500, an esteemed international rating organization of legal firms.
