Ekaterine Kakabadze has 13 years of professional experience in the field of environment protection, specifically on the issues related to protected areas. The scope of her interests include: protected areas national and international policy and legislation, protected areas governance and management, management planning, management effectiveness assessment and community involvement, protected areas and climate change, protected areas needs assessment and capacity development, etc. In addition, throughout her professional career she has worked on the issues such as: biodiversity conservation, environmental policy, environmental impact assessment, environmental audit, etc. She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences from Wageningen University, the Netherlands. Earlier she had obtained the diploma in biology from I. Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Georgia.
