Doctor of Philosophy, Film and Medea scientist.

Prof. Dr. Dinara Maglakelidze has graduated from Ivane Javakhisvili Tbilisi State University and Humboldt University of Berlin. She has also finished a post-graduate study of the Academy of Science of Georgia and a Study of doctor’s degree at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Humboldt University of Berlin. At the Humboldt University of Berlin, she upheld a doctoral thesis on the theme: National Identity in the Western German and Georgian Authoring Cinema /Comparative analysis/.

She is participating in international cinema symposiums and conferences. 

She was one of the members of jury at the international film festivals Svaneti, International Short Film Festival Kutaisi, International Film Festival Film-Kunst Fest, International Film Festival goEast and Prix-Europa.

She was holding a post of professor at the Institute of Public Affairs Georgia, senior researcher in the Ivane Javakhishvili State University of Tbilisi and Shota Rustaveli Theater and Film Georgia State University.

In different periods of time she delivered lectures in the history and the theory of the world cinema at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, at the Academy of Art of Tbilisi, Ibero Caucasian University of Georgia, Ilia University of Georgia.

 Her monographies were published in 2008 in German and Georgian in 2012.

She has also published scientific articles about the history and the theory of the cinema, modern European Cinema in German, English and Georgian languages. Prof. Dr. Dinara Maglakelidze was a Chief Editor of Film Print Magazine 10. She is a member of FIPRESCI, and a board member of Georgian Film Academy and she has played a significant role in establishing this institution.

Since 2017 she is Media Strand Coordinator of Creative Europe.

The main sphere of her scientific research is modern European auteur cinema, modern Film Theory and the problems of interculturalism and gender in European film.
