The University of Naples Federico II (Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II) is a public research university in Naples, Italy. Founded in 1224 by Emperor Frederick II, it is the oldest public, state-funded university in the world and one of the oldest universities still in continuous operation. Today, it enrolls over 90,000 students, making it one of the largest universities in Europe.
The university offers a broad range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs and is internationally recognized for its excellence in research and innovation. Rather than having a single campus, its departments and research facilities are spread throughout Naples and nearby Portici. The university has also established partnerships with leading technology companies, including hosting Europe's first Apple iOS Developer Academy.
