Marmara University

Founded in 1982, with roots dating back to 1883, Marmara University is one of Turkey’s largest and most prestigious public research universities. Located in Istanbul and named after the Sea of Marmara, the university is unique in Turkey for offering education in five languages: Turkish, English, German, French, and Arabic.

The university offers a wide range of programs through its faculties of Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Engineering, Communication, Economics, Business Administration, Fine Arts, Theology, Pharmacy, Education, Health Sciences, and Technology, as well as various vocational schools and graduate institutes.

Marmara University has produced many distinguished alumni who have made significant contributions in politics, business, science, media, and the arts. Notable graduates include Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, President of Turkey and Aydın Doğan, founder of one of Turkey’s largest media groups.
