Georgian Institute of Public Affairs hosted the leader of the Free Democrats Party – Irakli Alasania. The meeting was attended by the students of the master’s programmes in Public Administration, Public Policy, Local Self-Government and others. The leader of the political party spoke about the on-going processes and presented to the audience future plans and the programme of the Free Democrats Party. Irakli Alasania paid special attention to the topics of economic growth in the country and the importance of education. However, the upcoming parliamentary elections were the main topic of discussion at the meeting. The meeting was concluded with a discussion and a Q&A session which touched upon the subjects of eradication of nepotism in the public sector, major shortcomings in the education system, revision of the universal healthcare programme, judicial reform and defence and security issues.
