Coop Georgia was established in 2012 in Tbilisi. The organisation strives to promote the culture of waste sorting
(glass, plastic and paper) in the Georgian society. Throughout the four years of its operation Coop Georgia has
created a system for waste recycling and currently serves up to 50 business centres, organisations and schools. The
organisation’s collaboration with GIPA relates to the sorting of paper and plastic.
Carton boxes have been stationed throughout the buildings of GIPA (one for plastic and another for paper) to
facilitate waste sorting.
GIPA is actively involved in a wide variety of other activities related to environmental protection. Among those are:
hiking trips for the purpose of cleaning up a specific location, new master’s programme in environmental
protection policy and management and so forth.
