GIPA and the Solidarity Fund – partnership for helping children

Georgia’s Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) and Solidarity Fund of Georgia signed a memorandum of Understanding. In the frames of the memorandum (under the auspices of GIPA Support), students of the Business Administration master’s programme were actively involved in the partnership with the Solidarity Fund mainly in the direction of fundraising.

In the course of month MBA students held informational presentations for private companies and GIPA students, in which they talked about the Fund, its work and their need for financial assistance. In result of students’ one month’s worth of efforts, students managed to accrue different kinds of assistance for the Fund, in particular:

  • Tbilaviamsheni staff will regularly make small donations to the fund transferring a certain amount of their salaries to the Fund on monthly basis;

  • Solidarity Fund and the company Mega Building Group will sign a memorandum of understanding in the frames of which Mega Building Group will provide assistance to the Fund in the form of financial help as well as various other activities: visiting children in hospitals, organizing entertainment activities for the children and giving presents and so forth;

  • The willingness to sign a memorandum with the Fund and provide financial assistance was also expressed by the Director of the company Grand Dekor. The company pledged to make small donation to the fund from the realisation proceeds of its products;

  • British Corner also expressed their willingness to contribute by funding English language courses for several children starting from September.

In the frames of the memorandum, working meetings/discussions were held with the following organisations: charity organisation Cherrytea, the school Education Academy, Honey production and realisation company Meputkre, transportation company THC, café Flower, café Kalina, restaurant Sami Saukune. The willingness for future cooperation was expressed by the construction company Develo Art, Trade Centre Luxery and others.
