On 21-22 January, TBC ART Gallery hosted the exhibition of the students of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA) – Alphabetography 33. GIPA students presented at the exhibition over 100 pieces on the subject of the Georgian alphabet. Among the presented pieces were: alphabetical photos from the viewpoint of the students, artistic and conceptual photos and installations. Exposition was composed of four projects: “What We Write”, “What We See”, “What We Say” and “What We Think”.
With the exhibition Alphabetography 33, created based on the idea of GIPA’s lecturer, Mari Nakani, GIPA joins TBC Bank’s project #writeinGeorgian and contributes to the popularization of the Georgian language as of an integral part of everyday lifeamong the Georgian youth. The exhibition also included the works of the first-year students of GIPA’s bachelor’s programme in Audio-Visual and Media Art as well as those of the graduates of the certificate programme in photography.
TBC Bank named the series of conceptual posters “What We Say – I Can Be Seeing and Be Blind” as its personal choice among the projects on the subject of the Georgian alphabet and in the frames of the #writeinGeorgian project, awarded symbolic prizes to the authors of the piece -BekaKereselidze and ReziBolkvadze. E-Book House Saba gave electronic books to each participant of the exhibition.
On behalf of the Training Centre, Ana Kacheishvili, the highest achieving student of the certificate programme in Photography, was awarded a voucher for attending a professional programme in photography. Furthermore, third-term students of the bachelor’s programme in Audio-Visual and Media Art – SopoChkheidze and SandroLaliashili were named as the recipients of GIPA’s one-term scholarships.
The exhibition was concluded with an award ceremony for the graduates of GIPA’s Training Center during which six best graduates of the Center were awarded special prizes.
