On 19-20 November GIPA organized the fourth annual event of screening student documentary films in the frames of the festival - GIPA DocU. Documentary films and 7 multimedia projects presented at the festival were produced by Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani students studying at the faculty of journalism of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs.
Representatives of the US Embassy, USAID office, IREX Georgia and Film Center were among the notable visitors of the event along with other specially invited guests from partner universities, embassies, public, civic and private sectors.
Students made the presented films as a part of their class on documentary filmsled by Nino Orjonikidze, TakoNatchkebia and ZazaRusadze. Production of students’ films was made possible through the support of Multimedia Education Center.
This year, for the first time, GIPA’s School of Journalism presented multimedia projects prepared by the Student Media and led by Nino Lomadze and EleneAsatiani.
The best films and multimedia projects were announced by the jury on 20 November at 19:00. The composition of the jury was as follows:
Jury for the transmedia projects: NestanTsetskhladze, Eric Barnett, DaroSulakauri. Prize money – GEL 500.
Jury for the short documentary films and transmedia projects: Andrew Norse, Caroline Sutcliffe, GiorgiGogua. Prize money – GEL 1000.
Jury for the competition of documentary film projects in development (pitching): Alexander Kvatashidze, Martin Dicicco, KetiMatchavariani and SopikoMegrelidze. Prize money – GEL 1500.
