At 15:30, on 8 May, a discussion will be held at the GIPA Frontline Club on the subject – Georgia and European integration: Existing tendencies and challenges.
The discussion on the challenges and opportunities of Georgia’s European integration will be conducted by GIPA students. The presentations will relate to the ongoing processes within the country as well as the external factors and their effects.
The following four talks will be delivered:
- The EU-Georgia Relations Prior to the Association Agreement, Salome Jorjoliani.
- Association Agreement, Existing Challenges and Perspectives, Giorgi Taktakishvili
- EU and Georgia Sandro Inashvili
- EU Foreign Policy towards the Russian Federation, Alyona Siniova
After the students’ presentations a discussion will be held on the following topics:
- Main challenges on the road towards the European integration
- Public opinion on Europe and European integration.
- The role of media in the context of European integration
- What does the Europe mean for Georgia in practice: Security? Education? Economics? Migration?
- What should the state policy be? How important is the explicitly declared Western orientation?
The discussion will be led by the invited guests:
