On October 8, 2024, the opening information meeting of the project "Nature-Based Solutions to Increase Community Resilience Against Climate-Induced Disasters - NBS-CORES" took place at the Sheraton Batumi, gathering key stakeholders and beneficiaries.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the public and private sectors, local governments, agencies, non-governmental organizations, and educational institutions in the region.
The project aims to reduce and manage climate change-induced disasters through nature-based solutions (NBS), enhancing the resilience of communities in the target municipalities (Kobuleti, Keda, Khelvachauri, Shuakhevi, Khulo, and Batumi).
This transnational project fosters cooperation between three Black Sea Basin countries—Georgia, Turkey, and Greece—while incorporating the European Union’s best practices. It is being implemented by four partner organizations: the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs (GIPA), Ecolution Georgia, WRI Türkiye, and the Forest Research Institute - DIMITRA.
The project is co-financed by the European Union under the "Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Program" and will run until the end of 2026.
