12 September, 2020

The project was implemented in partnership with Mercy Corps, Elva Community Engagement and West Cork Development Partnership (Ireland). The project - Promoting a New Rural Development Approach in Akhalkalaki was funded by the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development in Georgia (EU-ENPARD).

The project aimed to contribute to poverty reduction in Georgia through a new and innovative methodology for rural development. GIPA, along with project partners, advanced a bottom-up, inclusive rural development approach in Akhalkalaki municipality, actively engaging all local communities. Special emphasis was placed on the involvement of women and youth, as well as the integration of ethnic minorities. A total of 42 local social, cultural, educational, environmental, and business projects were financed as part of the project.
