From May 2-5, 2023, Ilia State University and Charles University Prague jointly organized a Kick-off and Study Visit as part of the European Commission's Erasmus+ CBHE Programme Structural Reform project, Responsible Conduct of Research – Research Integrity and Ethics in Georgian Universities (ETHICS). The event brought together representatives from four EU partner institutions, ten Georgian universities, and three non-university partners, including the Ministry of Education and Science, the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, and the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation.
The primary objectives of the meeting were to review partners’ roles and plans and the work packages of the project. Besides, participants were introduced to the EU regulations for administrative and financial Managing of a Project under a grant agreement. The four-day program included project meetings, lectures, and a study visit. During the study visit, researchers and academics from Charles University, Masaryk University, VUMC, and ENAI shared the best practices and recommendations regarding academic integrity and research ethics.
At the first national meeting, GIPA was represented by the Head of the Research Department- Nana Macharashvili, and the administrative Head of Ph.D. Programmes’ - Natia Tchigvaria.
