The first meeting of the DUGEOR project local committee

Georgian universities and Georgian business companies will participate in the implementation of
the European Union-funded CBHE project - " Strengthening capacities for the implementation of
dual education in Georgian higher education (DUGEOR)" for 4 years.
The goals of the project are: to improve the competencies of graduates of higher education in
Georgia in accordance with the needs of employers; increasing the employment of graduates and
their motivation to study; increasing students' access to funding for their studies; determining the
needs and specific requirements of companies represented in various industrial sectors and
businesses;

On June 30, 2023, within the framework of the DUGEOR project, a meeting of the Georgian
partners involved in the project was held in a hybrid mode. The following partners participated in
the meeting:

The agenda consisted of the following five items:

1. Analysis of best practices in DHE in the EU and associated countries - presentation and
discussion
2. Development of research design for employers' (business sector) needs
3. Procurement process progress
4. Dissemination and reporting issues
5. Future study visits to Germany.
Regarding the first item, a report was made by the leading organization of WP2, GIPA. As part of
this task, a preliminary version of the report on the analysis of the EU best practices in DHE, has
been prepared. 20 DHE programs covering 4 countries - Austria, Germany, Spain and Serbia were
discussed.
Some comments and recommendations regarding the report were expressed by the participants.
At the meeting, the participants agreed that the mentioned remarks should be submitted and
reflected in the document by July 10, 2023.
At the meeting, the participants also agreed that the document will be translated into English and
sent to European partners for further comments and final report.
The second item on the agenda concerned the analysis of market needs. The research design,
research questions and list of potential companies to be interviewed were presented. At the
meeting, the participants agreed that the final research design will be prepared by July 15 2023.
The leader of WP5, TeSau representative Tamar Aslanishvili, spoke on the third item, which was
dedicated to equipment purchases, and called on the consortium members to provide
information on the announced tenders by July 15, 2023. At the meeting, it was said that all
purchases should be completed by the end of September 2023.
BSMA representative, Theona Dzneladze, spoke about the tasks of WP7 dissemination. It was said
that the website dugeor.ge has been created and materials about the project are published on it
in English. The Georgian language material is being translated and uploaded. Teona Dzneladze
also reminded the participants that it is important to send the information reflecting the activities
related to the project to the WP7 leader in time so that the project activities can be reflected on
the web portals (before July 10, 2023).
Among other issues the participants also discussed the deadlines for the report of the first period
of the project. All participants were informed about the requirements of the content of the
financial and dissemination reports.
At the end of the meeting, logistical matters related to the next study visit to Germany were
discussed.
