Introduction
The Master of Public Administration Program provides
specialized knowledge and technical skills in public policy analysis
and management and broad understanding of the pubic sector problems
and their solutions. The program prepares students to understand
the interdisciplinary nature of public policy analysis and management,
the application of empirical and theoretical knowledge in specific
areas of the field.
Academic year begins in September. The program consists of four semesters and lasts for two years.
The first semester is designed as a long-distance learning. Students get familiarized with introductory courses
in public administration. The 2nd and the3rd semesters’ learning format is intensive. Classes are held five times
a week; from 10:00 pm to 16:00 pm. Curriculum comprises weeks-long core courses taught in blocks as well as
shorter afternoon courses. During the 4th semester students work on the preparation of Final Project and take
Internships in various public sector agencies, international organizations, NGOs, etc.
The MPA program has a number of required courses in public administration and related fields,
taught by visiting faculty from the United States as well as the Georgian faculty. Each instructor designs a
specific course. The faculty is composed of individuals with both academic and practical experience in government
at the national level. This mix of theory and practice plays a crucial.
Through its reputation, and through its internships, GIPA and MPA Program have developed
numerous contacts with public and private sector administrators. Graduates typically achieve continuing success
in their present careers or are successful in obtaining other career positions related to their interests.
